RallyCross Point Series
A RallyCross season consists of 8 to 11 events. Participants must compete in 5 events in class to qualify for series championship.
Points accumulated from 5 events will count toward the season championship.
Points will be awarded in class, no bumping for points even if bumping for trophies occurs.
Points will be awarded as follows:
1st 25 6th 8
2nd 18 7th 6
3rd 15 8th 4
4th 12 9th 2
5th 10 10th 1
Ties will be decided by the number of class wins during the entire season (9 events), further ties will be decided by second place and subsequent place finishes until a tie is broken, ties remaining will be declared co-champions.
Novices will earn points within the class they would run in. Raw times will be used in calculating placing within the open class regardless of the finishing order in novice for the event. Novice events will count toward the 5 event requirement.
End of year awards will be awarded for each class with eligible competitors meeting the 5 event requirement, regardless of the number of entrants for the year. The number of awards per class will be determined by the total number of eligible competitors in class. 1st only for up to 1 or 2 competitors, 2nd for 3 through 5 competitors, 3rd will be added at 6, additional awards will be added as required but it is not expected based on history that we would need more than 3 season awards in any class.
Participants who received individual event Class Winner trophies will not be eligible for an end of year plaque. End of year plaques allow the region to keep event costs down and provide participants with a way to remember their dedication of the previous year.
